Hey guys!!! Do you read multiple books at once? I do!! Here’s why I read several books at once and my pros and cons!! Share your thoughts below!!
I’m going to start off by saying that I’m currently reading 16 books! While I may not be actively reading most of these books, I do still have the intent of finishing them!
So here’s why I read so many books at once! I like to switch it up! Also, at any given time I like to have a physical book, an audiobook, and an eBook handy! Having all these formats makes reading more interesting, and easier depending on where I am and what I’m doing!
Now, here’s some of my personal pros and cons!
Pros
If you get bored easily, there’s always a new book to read! You can super easily change books, and get immersed into another story that you’ve already started!
It’s super nice for reading in multiple different formats! Like I mentioned above, I like to be reading a book in several different formats! This means that I usually need at least 3 books! This means you can read no matter where you are!
I like to be reading fun books and science/nonfiction books! I don’t like to be reading difficult nonfiction books all the time, so I like to mix them in every couple of days! For me, this is a super beneficial part of reading several books at once! I also do the same thing with classics!
Cons
Reading a lot of books at once can get confusing! When you’re jumping back and forth and back and forth in-between books, the stories can get jumbled! Sometimes, the stories just start to mix and don’t make sense anymore! I personally think that this is the biggest con!
Sometimes, you put a book down for a break and never come back to it… When you’re constantly reading several books at once, it’s easy become uninterested in a book you put down. This means you may just set it down and never come back to it again, which is not good for people who are already likely to DNF books!
