It’s senior year and Pip needs to pick out her capstone project. You can pick anything to research, even a closed murder case from 5 years ago that occured in you own town. Pip has always had a bad feeling about the case, so she starts her own investigation. Only things start to get a bit too real, and Pip might be the next target.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is an exciting mystery that is perfectly plotted out. This book is perfect for anyone who loves a lot of action and unexpected plot-twists. (Note: the later books in the series get quite dark and the genre borders horror.)

Everything changes when the kid who ran the notorious gossip blog as Bayview High drops dead in detention. There are 4 suspects, but who did it? They all have an opportunity and motive, but who is the kind of person who would commit murder to keep a secret from going out?
Karen M. McManus delivers her first novel with a carefully plotted mystery that will keep the reader guessing at every turn! The book is told from the perspectives of all the suspects, which makes it even more exciting! One of Us is Lying is perfect for any reader who is looking for a real page-turner!

At an elite boarding school, getting into an Ivy League school. 5 friends, The Ivies, would do anything to get in. They aren’t above changing test scores, sabotaging club leaderships, or messing with class ranks. When a girl is found dead in the rowing room, the Ivies are the first suspects. But would they kill to get into the school of their dreams?
This unique mystery/thriller is an amazing read for someone who has read a lot of mysteries and wants something a bit different, or just wants to get into the genre. The main character is one of the Ivies which delivers a new take on the classic murder mystery. This book is amazing!

As they’re stay on the island progresses, more family mysteries arise. Why have they never met? Why is their grandmother so shocked by their arrival? What secrets will they uncover?
The Cousins is a great read for any time of the year, but is truly magical at the start of summer! The mystery is wonderful in a way that all Karen M. McManus books are! I’d highly recommend if you enjoyed any other McManus book!

Six friends head off on a road trip during spring break. Six of them are keeping secrets. One secret might kill them all. Five walk out alive.
An edgy mystery that is the definition of a mystery thriller. If you enjoyed AGGGTM and want more of Holly Jackson’s writing, this book is perfect for you!

Ellery is moving to the town of her aunt’s murder. She and her brother are just getting used to the new small town when things start to take a turn for the worst. Threats start emerging that promise that this homecoming will be just like the one five years ago, when Ellery’s aunt disappeared. But threats are just threats, right? Until another girl disappears.
This mystery is perfect for fans of AGGGTM or One of Us is Lying! Read this book if you want an edgy, small town mystery.

Everyone wants to be part of The Guild. In the boarding school’s classic game of Killer, Cate is a player. It is all fun in games, “killing” the other players with red paint or a harmless water gun. Until it isn’t. Things become a bit too real and the threat of administration shutting down the game looms over the players heads. Will Cate keep playing the game and catch the real killer? Or will she be next?
This book isn’t your average murder mystery. It may have the classic boarding school setting, but the plot and the idea are cool and exciting. This is also a good choice if you don’t want a super “murdery” book because the story is mostly just a game with fake killing! A great choice for newbie murder mystery fans!!! This is a standalone book.

Avery Grambs is just trying to get through high school and afford college. She lives in her car and plays chess with a homeless man in the park in the mornings. 5 friends leave for one last weekend together at a remote cabin before they graduate high school and go their separate ways. As they into character for their role-play game, things start to become real. As they are slowly picked, those that are still left have to find a way to safety.
This book is similar to your average cabin slasher, but still really good! This novel was my first horror book, and I loved it so much! While the mystery side of the story wasn’t super well plotted out, this book is a great intro to the horror genre!! This is a standalone novel.
