A Bit About No Shelf Control

I started No Shelf Control in 2023 because I always struggled to find diverse books intended for a young adult audience. I knew I wasn’t the only one who struggled so I decided to create a space for book lovers like me to find their next read. People always say that if you don’t see the book you want on the shelf, write it. Well the books I wanted were on the shelf but they were hard to find. So there I was creating my own community, No Shelf Control.

A Bit About Me

I’m Emma, the blogger behind No Shelf Control. While I didn’t always love reading, I have always loved an adventure, and books gave me that. Books are such an integral part of my life that I could truly never picture myself without. They have helped me through my lowest lows and been with me during my highest highs. And while books are 99% of my personality, there’s still that 1%. That 1% of me enjoys so much, yet it seems so miniscule compared to the part of me that is dedicated to hallucinating while staring at pieces of a dead tree so commonly known as paper. I enjoy taking care of my bearded dragon, Stan, yes, I named my bearded dragon after the bearded dragon in One of Us Is Lying. I love to bake and decorate cakes, which sometimes feature books. I will travel almost anywhere in the world, and it is an endless debate on how many books I should bring. Lastly, I you can almost always find me creating my very own press on nails that are sometimes based on my favorite novels. Now that I am beginning to realize that all of my hobbies revolve around books in some way, I think it’s time for me to wrap this up and find some non-book related pastimes.
