Hello book lovers! What are your opinions on cliffhangers? Today I’ll be talking about my thoughts on them, and when they and when they aren’t okay!
We all know what it’s like when you’re reading a book and you’re wondering how they are going to wrap the story up in the next thirty pages. Well, the answer most of the time is: they don’t. While I understand why authors write cliffhangers because it does make you want to read the next book, but it’s sometimes just mean. If there’s another book in the series, I think a cliffhanger is okay, and I sometimes support it because it does set up well for a sequel! On the other hand, when I read a standalone book that ends with a cliffhanger it simply isn’t satisfying. Why would I read a whole book just to find out there’s no resolution to the story? It feels almost pointless in a way.
Anyways, that’s all for today’s Thursday’s Thoughts! What are your thoughts on cliffhangers? Share them below!
